Data security
At Abelohost, we employ a variety of safeguards aimed at protecting the Personal Information you entrust to us, including physical protections, electronic defenses, and procedural controls. Your data rights
You have various rights concerning the protection of your Personal Data, which may be subject to certain conditions, limits, and exceptions as outlined by the GDPR and other applicable laws. These rights include:
- The right to access the Personal Data we process about you;
- The right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information relating to you;
- The right to receive a copy of your data or have it transferred to another data controller, where technically possible (known as the right to data portability, subject to restrictions set by the EU General Data Protection Regulation);
- The right to request the deletion of your Personal Data. You may request that we erase your data without undue delay for valid reasons, such as when the data is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected or if the data was processed unlawfully;
- The right to restrict the processing of your data. You may, for legitimate reasons, ask us to limit how we process your Personal Data;
- The right to object to our processing of your Personal Data based on our legitimate interests, as well as to object to the use of your data for direct marketing purposes, as described earlier in this Policy.
Some of these rights are straightforward to exercise. For example, you can access, update, or correct your information at any time, opt out of marketing communications from us or our partners by adjusting your personal account settings or by contacting us via email at info@abelohost.com.
If you object to processing based on our legitimate interests, we will review your request carefully. Please note that this may still lead to the closure or deactivation of your Account.
In certain situations, we use automated decision-making processes involving profiling. This means we may use technology to evaluate your personal circumstances and other factors to predict risks or outcomes. This helps us make decisions that are fair, consistent, and supported by accurate information.
Examples of when automated decisions and profiling occur include:
- Conducting fraud prevention checks prior to approving a purchase. This protects both our customers and our platform from potential fraud, scams, or misuse. This processing is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations with you (pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). If your data or behavior patterns suggest a risk, the purchase may be declined;
- Assessing eligibility for discounts on products or services. This is done to improve customer experience and encourage loyalty, based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Importantly, this process will not be used to increase the price you pay.
